Manchester United transfer news : Real Madrid and Barcelona to join Sancho chase, Dybala listed for sale, club to rival Chelsea for Chilwell AND Havertz?

Happy Friday, Man United fans!

As fans wait to see what the next turn in the Jadon Sancho transfer saga is, it is being reported Barcelona and Real Madrid could join the race.

Neither La Liga are in a position to sign the 20-year-old this season due to the financial constraints caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, when things begin to settle then it will be a different story next year – if Sancho remains at the club as Michael Zorc, the sporting director insists.

United could also be given a second chance to sign Paulo Dybala from Juventus as it is being reported Andrea Pirlo will make him available for transfer.

The forward has admitted he was previously close to leaving.

Meanwhile, Hansen-Aaroen from Tromso is thought to be close to joining and The Mirror write that United will rival Chelsea for Ben Chilwell.

It has already been reported the club could nip in ahead of the Blues for Kai Havertz and this will certainly put pressure on Chelsea to pay the large transfer fee Leicester are asking for.

Manchester United have been urged to ‘be patient’ and shelve their pursuit of English wonderkid Jadon Sancho until next summer.

Jamie O’Hara believes it would be ‘wrong’ for the Premier League giants to fork out over £100million for one player during the COVID-19 crisis, saying £60m would be a fairer price in the current market.

There’s no chance Borussia Dortmund would accept that fee, though, and according to recent reports it appears Sancho will stay in Germany for the time being.

talkSPORT pundit O’Hara has said he would ‘love’ to see Sancho tearing it up in the Premier League in a Manchester United.

But he believes it would be bad taste to complete such a huge deal in the current climate, due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

“If Manchester United do get Sancho over the line, then they’re going to be a real force,” the former Tottenham midfielder said on the talkSPORT Breakfast.

“They’ve been fantastic since lockdown and I thought they ended the season brilliantly.

“I’d love to see Jadon Sancho in the Premier League… but it’s a lot of money if they’re talking over £100m, especially in the current situation.

“I don’t think £100m is right. £60m or £70m for him, fair enough… but if you’re going to pay top-end in this current situation, I just don’t see how that can be right.

“So as much as I’d love him to come, if they have to wait a season, then so be it.

“It would be really stupid while all over the world people are struggling, people are losing their jobs, there are redundancies… and then Man United go and spent £100m on one player – that’s my issue with it.

“If it was a normal market then £100m is worth it for a 20-year-old who is going to be one of your best players.

“But I just think they shouldn’t be held to ransom by Borussia Dortmund, because they know Man United really want him. Be patient.

“We all have to understand that the world’s changed, and those huge transfer fees really and truly shouldn’t be happening right now.”

Manchester United are reportedly set to announce the signing of Isak Hansen-Aaroen from Tromso.

Tromso assistant Lars Petter Andressen told Nordlys: “Isak is no longer with us now. He will travel to Manchester next week and he has agreed with us that he will now have a few days off. It will be a little holiday to calm down a bit before he goes over.

“Of course we wish him a lot of luck over there. We wish he could be here and contribute to the season but we understand that they want him there.”

Borussia Dortmund's head of player licence department, and former player, Sebastien Kehl reiterated that Jadon Sancho will be staying with the club.

There had been intense speculation that Sancho would join Manchester United but a move did not materialise before Dortmund's self-imposed deadline.

The German club have moved to end transfer talks and look ahead to next season.

“It was important to get clarity on the subject,” Kehl told SID. “We know about Jadon's attractiveness but also of his importance to us. He gives our team that little extra. We're happy that he's staying.”

Manchester United are said to be considering a move for Kai Havertz – to hijack Chelsea's bid for the playmaker.

The Bayer Leverkusen player has long been linked with the Blues and he was expected to sign following their exit from the Europa League.

Reports suggest the Red Devils may have something to say about that.

Juventus have reportedly made former Manchester United target Paulo Dybala up for sale this summer.

Andrea Pirlo is the new manager at the Serie A side and reports suggest there will be a big clearout ahead of the 2020/21 season.

The Daily Express claim Dybala is one of those who are likely to be axed as part of the overhaul.

United have previously been linked with the forward and could make an approach again this summer following their failure to sign Jadon Sancho.

Social media platform Twitter has apologised to Phil Jones after its official UK account posted a tweet mocking the Manchester United defender.

The online network says ‘being the target of online abuse is not easy to deal with’ on a dedicated help centre page about coping and reporting abuse.

Yet on Tuesday it engaged in such behaviour when taking aim at the centre-back, with its verified @TwitterUK account posting: “Name a better footballer than Phil Jones”.

United are understood to have complained to Twitter about the subsequently deleted post, with the social network apologising to both club and player.

England international Jones has endured a tough season and missed out on the Europa League finals squad with an ankle injury.

He last featured for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team in January’s FA Cup fourth round win at Tranmere, netting the fourth goal in a 6-0 romp.

Barcelona willing to sell Ousmane Dembele if Manchester United can meet their valuation.

Spanish publication Sport claim the LaLiga club would be willing to let him leave on loan if there was a mandatory purchase agreement as part of the deal – worth around £81million.

United are said to be wary of the winger’s injury history but he remains an option after their failure to sign Jadon Sancho.

Jadon Sancho has hinted his long-term future may lie with Borussia Dortmund, despite interest from Manchester United.

The England international remains a top target for the Old Trafford hierarchy, yet it appears as though a deal may be slipping away.

The ongoing saga has taken a fresh twist, with Borussia Dortmund’s deadline of August 10 passing on Monday and their sporting director saying the 20-year-old will not be leaving.

Sancho played 45 minutes against Altach in a 6-0 win as the German club started their pre-season in Switzerland and looked as impressive as ever alongside his teammates.

Even though it was a friendly, the former Manchester City winger was interviewed after the game and spoke gushingly about the ‘special’ squad and revealed his desire to become a leader in the dressing room.
